However, I will say that I do have some cred' as far as AI-generated content goes. I’m a content marketer who manages all stages of the content strategy and execution processes at Evenbound. I’ve been exploring AI tools for content creation for quite some time now, evaluating how well they help me do my job better and faster, as well as what value they can bring to my clients.

How Does Jasper AI Work?

Here’s a step-by-step example of me creating a product description for a fictional cookie company.

Next, I fill in the prompts to the best of my ability. I include a customized brand voice for the company, as well as some descriptors like "friendly" and "casual."

Like any other generative AI platform, I look at Jasper as a tool — not something that does all the work for me. So I follow up the output generation with some editing to really hone in the copywriting. (Did I write this article with Jasper’s help? Yes. Did I also edit extensively and elaborate on the original output? You betcha.)

Is Jasper AI Worth It?

And now to what you’ve probably been waiting for: is this all worth your investment? From my perspective, Jasper AI is worth it if you’re a content-heavy business with a solid budget. It streamlines processes, is easy to learn and use, and gets you a little closer to the on-brand outputs you’re looking for than some other tools do.

However, if you don’t have a flexible budget or your content needs are irregular, I’d suggest using other tools for AI-based content creation. There are some less expensive, or even free, solutions that can get you close to where Jasper will get you (*cough* Chat GPT *cough*). It might take you a little more time and brain power for prompting, but that’s the price you pay for a cheaper solution.
